Kent Nagano conducts Schubert and Mahler

Franz Schubert: Deutsche Tänze (arranged for Orchestra by Anton Webern)

Gustav Mahler: Songs from "Des Knaben Wunderhorn"

Franz Schubert: Symphony No. 3 in D Major

Conductor: Kent Nagano
Tenor: Klaus Florian Vogt
Philharmonisches Staatsorchester Hamburg

Klaus Florian Vogt is considered one of the most sought-after tenors of our times. A less well-known fact is that the singer began his musical career as a horn player in the Hamburg Philharmonic State Orchestra. Most recently, he sang the role of Lohengrin under Nagano’s baton at the State Opera. However, Vogt and his former orchestra colleagues have worked together on the concert stage repeatedly. This concert features Mahler’s songs from "Des Knaben Wunderhorn", combining a folksy character with elements of the grotesque. The songs are complemented by works by Franz Schubert.
