"The traveling enthusiast apparently separates his inner life so little from the outer that one can hardly distinguish between the two." So begins the Romantic poet and composer E. T. A. Hoffmann's fantasy piece about the adventures of the last night of the year. Let's follow the hero Enthus from the Berlin of the early 19th century to the New York of the 21st century. The New Year's Eve party begins in the illustrious circles of the Minister of the Interior and leads us to the cellar pub "Zur Einheit" as well as to the big four-poster bed of a hotel or to the swimming pool of the adored Angie in the middle of Manhattan. A surreal dream – or is it a nightmare – oscillating between operetta and profound drama of the soul. Johannes Harneit mixes the styles and the genres full of desire, we are invited to be seduced!
