Kent Nagano

Antonio Vivaldi: The Four Seasons – Concerti for Violin, Strings and Basso continuo

Igor Stravinsky: Petroushka – Burlesque in four scenes

Conductor: Kent Nagano
Violin and Conductor Vivaldi: Guiliano Carmignola
Philharmonisches Staatsorchester Hamburg

A recurring cycle of nature and life confronted with a drama of jealousy with a deadly outcome – the programme of the 4th Philharmonic Concert plumbs the tension between nature and civilization. Giuliano Carmignola is considered one of the leading practitioners of baroque violin style, especially of 18th-century Italian music. He will lead Vivaldi’s masterworks from the violin. Stravinsky’s "Petroushka" will be conducted by general music director Kent Nagano. Please note: the concert on Sunday morning features a special family programme. Older children can follow the first half of the concert live in the main auditorium with their parents or grandparents. During the second half of the concert, an artist conversation for children follows.
