Bühne frei!
GRENZENLOS – Ensemble concert of the Hamburg State Opera for the benefit of the Deutsche Muskelschwund-Hilfe e.V. (German Muscular Dystrophy Aid). | ENDLICH ALLEIN …
Overcoming boundaries, discovering new things, gaining freedom - we all dream of this. Music has always told of the longing for boundless happiness, also of the sadness when we come up against boundaries that we cannot cross. Borders separate us from loved ones, from home, from ourselves. But when the borders open, when we have fought our way to the other side, or perhaps just dreamed our way across, lying in each other's arms, we are filled with joy. The walls that separate people and nations seem to be getting higher again right now, can music overcome them? Songs have triggered revolutions, have given people strength and courage - we need more of that today than ever!
Top-class soloists put themselves at the service of a good cause, experience your Hamburg stars with songs and arias that tell of freedom and happiness, of longing and consolation.
For over 35 years, the Hamburg State Opera has supported the work of the Deutsche Muskelschwund-Hilfe e.V.. As part of this collaboration, the ensemble concert Bühne frei! has been held for the benefit of the association since 2012.
The mission of Deutsche Muskelschwund-Hilfe e.V. is to help people with muscle diseases and their families to cope with everyday life and maintain their independence. To this end, the association offers comprehensive advice, support with applications and appeals, a school assistance service and self-help groups. In Germany, an estimated 300,000 people are affected by the still incurable disease muscular atrophy.
