The Alsterspatzen have been charming the stage of the Hamburg State Opera for many decades as gingerbread or street children, as ministrants and elven choir. From the season 2019/20 on, we are happy to welcome the Alsterspatzen as children and youth choir of the Hamburg State Opera under the direction of Luiz de Godoy. In addition to regular repertoire rehearsals, the children and adolescents are prepared for their musical and acting assignments with language coaching, scenic training and solo voice training. At "Bella und Blaubart", our opera piccola 2019/20 with a demanding choir part, the Alsterspatzen are in focus, and they are the ones who have a decisive influence on the outcome of the opera... Also within the "Hamburger Theaternacht" and the annual Advent Calendar of the Hamburg State Opera, the Alsterspatzen will be present! At the beginning of the new era they will be able to prove their skills in a big concert with Berlioz' "Te Deum" under the Musical Direction of Kent Nagano in the Elbphilharmonie - what a new beginning!
